I was born Patricia J. Vesey, in a country town, Charlton, Massachusetts. My love for painting and design comes from my grandmother, Belle Vesey, (left) who died before I was born. My sisters and I used to love to look through the attic at stacks of old canvases, stained and cracked with age. We pictured the "grand lady" in Victorian dress, painting at an easel set up in Boston common or the New Hampshire countryside. My siblings and I are all self-taught artists, but in 1976 I became interested in decorative painting and studied with many traveling artists from NSTDP. (Now called the Society of Decorative Painters)

I am currently a member of the Nature Coast Decorative Artists in Spring Hill, FL. Manatee Haven Decorative Artists, Crystal River, FL, Sunshine State Decorative Artists and Citrus County Art League, Hernando. FL

My husband Mickey and I live in Lecanto, Florida. I  worked at Crowley & Company Advertising, Inc. as mainly a logo designer and for Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church designing ads, brochures and other publications . I now mostly paint for pleasure while enjoying my children and grandchildren. I love painting from life, be it portraits, still life or plein air scenes. I teach adult painting classes in my home studio, mostly in acrylics and oils. I enjoy learning all painting techniques and mediums.

I enjoy acrylics,
painted on canvas,
wood or metal.

I enjoy finding trays and old pieces
of furniture and creating fun designs

I enjoy setting up still life
compositions and painting them
in watercolor.
